I just love the VanOrsdol Crew. I've worked with big brother, Cooper, on several occasions and he is such a hoot. Well Miss Lucy looks like the girlie version of Coop...and she is adorable! She was such a good baby when she came to see me. And we even, very quickly, managed to get Cooper in for a few shots with little sis. :)

Now come on...does she really look 11 days old here? She looks like she is ready to take on the world! :)

Miss Ella

The first time I met Ella's family, Ella was still in her mommy's tummy. Ella's family lives in Texas, so I never got to see Ella after she was born...only the pictures her momma posted on Facebook. I knew how adorable she was, so I was excited when we were FINALLY able to work out a time for me to shoot Ella's session. I had such high hopes for Ella's session, but Ella was just not that in to me. :( She cried for a big part of her session (notice the conversion posts to hide the red-rimmed eyes!). We are going to have to try this again the next time you are in town, Miss Ella!

Morgan | Bixby High School

WIND. Yes, this was the word of the day for Delaney's session. A little wind can definitely work to a photographer's advantage at times, but the wind during Delaney's session was just ridiculous! I have loved working with the Sezate Family since I first met them when Hudson was a newborn. With that said...it's kind of a joke between Kara and I that when she calls to schedule, she wonders if I will actually answer the phone. This is because as adorable and truly sweet as her children are, they do NOT like having their pictures taken! LOL! But I am happy to report, I think we are making progress! I think I actually got THREE shots this time of Hudson actually looking at me without making a crazy face! :)

Hudson definitely looks like a sweetie in this picture (and he is!). However, if you had been at the session, you would know that the two sticks in his hands were machine guns and he was shooting me! LOL!

There is no possible way to pick just five images to post from Sydney's session. We had such a great time and got so many awesome shots! Sydney is obviously beautiful and knows how to "work it" for the camera...but she is also a truly and sincerely very sweet person. Anyone who knows her will tell you the same. It was a pretty chilly day when we shot, so I had to smooth out some goosebumps on some of her shots...but she faked warm well! Oh, and we almost got electrocuted! While shooting in an alley a truck and trailer caught an electric wire and pulled a pole down...almost on top of our heads! Haha...never a shortage of excitement for sure! Little Miss Sara has done nothing but get cuter since the last time I saw her. She has such big, pretty eyes with long eyelashes. Unfortunately, on the day we were taking her photos, she was not impressed with the scenario! LOL! She was having a rough day, and she cried for a good portion of the session. When we realized being outside wasn't working, we headed to the studio to see if that would work at all. We were able to get a few shots in between the tears, but that was about it. Oologah still owns the reputation of having some of the nicest seniors. Lindsay was right on track with that reputation. Her and her mom were so sweet to work with (and I might add...during one of the worst times of my life). Lindsay's session was shot during the time right after my mom had her stroke. It felt good to get back to some kind of normal and shoot a very cool senior session. Lindsay is such a naturally beautiful girl...and more importantly, a very sweet and sincere person. So this guy obviously isn't the same cute little 3-yr-old with a black eye that was at my wedding (I wanted to post that picture but could NOT find it!). He's all grown up now and has turned into a very handsome guy. He's looking at a wonderful future in baseball and has signed with OSU. Baby Halle is such a precious little thing. I was so excited to finally meet her after shooting Jodi's maternity and sister maternity sessions. Oh my...this girl may only be one, but she has already figured out how to "work it." She is obviously the cutest little thing ever, and she did great for the first part of her session. Then we started losing her, at which point, she managed to give the fakest (and cutest) pout I think I've ever seen. She would actually do it on demand and then promptly go back to being just fine. It was SO hilarious! I'm afraid mom and dad are in for a long road with this little gal. :) Once she masters batting her eyes at someone...it's all over!! Life happens...

Many of my clients and friends already know this, but for those of you that don't, my mother suffered a massive stroke on April 4th. This, obviously, has turned our lives upside down, and many days I feel as though I'm hanging on by a thread. It's imperative I be there to support her in her rehabilitation which is going to be a lengthy process...and I'm trying to maintain some sense of normalcy for my family and still manage my business. To my immediate clients waiting on sessions to be edited, I promise I am working every spare minute I have to get them completed...but it is obviously taking longer than my normal time frame. You have all been patient and kind...and you have no idea what that means to me. However, the bottom line is, I know you are waiting on your sessions to be edited and I respect that and am making every effort to complete them.

I am still shooting and taking appointments but it is on a more limited basis due to the uncertainty of my mom's rehabilitation process. If you need an appointment, please still feel free to call or send me an email and I will do my very best to schedule an appointment for you in a timely manner.

Thank you so much for your understanding during this very difficult time. And please say an extra prayer for my mom's speedy and complete recovery.

Last Friday, March 11th, was pretty eventful for our neighbors living south of Bristow. With a grass fire starting nine miles south of town and burning close to three miles in horrible winds and very dry conditions, many or our neighbors were affected. I was fortunate enough to tag along with the Bristow Fire Department to capture a few images six miles south of Bristow. I will be the first to say that fire is one of my biggest fears, so having a front row seat to watch these guys work was pretty cool. Thank you so much to the Bristow Fire Department and it's volunteers, as well as, the surrounding community fire departments for helping fight this fire. There were some structures lost, but no homes to my knowledge. Our firefighters work long, exhausting hours battling these grass fires. The volunteers are a HUGE asset to the department and put in sometimes very long hours just to help out. It takes supplies like food and water to keep these guys going, and donations are always appreciated. "Train comin' through!" I laugh every time I think about this. Soon-to-be big brother Jaxon had a GREAT time playing in my play area at the studio...so much so, that he did NOT want to leave! :) I'm pretty sure he thinks "getting his pictures taken" is an awesome event! I so enjoyed getting to work with my long-time friend's kids, Savanna and Jacoby. Savanna is such a natural beauty and Jacoby is such a handsome and entertaining guy. And well, I figured out really quickly that my friend, Ralena, is like a total "stage mom." :) We shot a few of the kids together and shot a few of Jacoby...and then we mainly focused on getting some different looks for Savanna. Yes, you are seeing correctly...not one, but TWO beautiful mommas-to-be! They are sisters. They are six weeks apart. AND they are both having girls! We were thinking ahead on this session and rescheduled it to about a week earlier...which happened to yield some very warm temperatures before the Blizzard of 2011 hit! It was so nice to be able to shoot some studio stuff and then actually go outside and shoot and not freeze! Jodi and her husband are such a sweet couple...and lets not forget Jasmine (hope I'm spelling her name right)! She was the most perfectly posed pup for the entire session. Jodi is such a pretty momma-to-be. I can't wait to meet Baby Halle because I'm sure she will be just as pretty. :)

I've had the pleasure of working with Perri since she was a newborn. We haven't had a session (until now!) where her momma wasn't in almost every shot...she's partial to her momma, you see. :) I was thrilled when she came with momma and daddy this time and we triple-teamed her and got some fantastic smiles! This was my first time meeting Bri and Cooper. Bri is as sweet as they come. And Cooper, well, we decided really quickly he would probably do better with an outdoor session! He's at that age of not caring to stay still for too long! They are both such sweet kids and I enjoyed meeting and working with them. I hear poor Coop took a tumble and injured his mouth recently. He had some oral surgery today (ouch!). We are thinking about you, Coop, and hope you are feeling better! I will see you soon...for an outdoor session! :)

Four Generations

When Ann called and asked if I would make the trip to her house to shoot a four-generation photo...I was pretty excited. First of all, Ann was so super nice to visit with on the phone, it was like I had known her for forever. And then the thought of capturing four generations together was pretty special to me. But that wasn't even the best part. The best part was meeting Mimi! I'm not sure what adjectives to use to describe this lady...cool, special, hilarious, or maybe just a complete mess! :) Such a neat family! Thank you for the opportunity to work with you guys!

Baby Hadley

I was so happy to finally meet Baby Hadley and her mom and dad. She was such a tiny and precious little thing. She did great for her first session! We were able to shoot some asleep shots AND awake shots without too much fuss. She was my little guinea pig for the "hanging baby" shots. I did figure out a few things that will make it easier for the next time...but thankfully she was tolerant enough of me in order to at least try it out! :) Mom and dad...you did great! She's precious! I can't wait to see you again!

I've been trying to think of just what I could put in this blog post. You see, Cassady's mom...Ashley...is a very good friend of mine. And I know if the shoe was on the other foot, she would not hesitate to say something to embarrass me or give me a hard time. But I think I'll take it easy on her this time and just be thankful that she actually let me take her picture! :) It was a pleasure, as always, to work with Miss Cassady. I love this kid to pieces. I always feel more educated after having visited with her. This time, she informed me what she was asking for from Santa. I'm a little late in getting this blog post up...I'm going to have to check and see if Santa delivered on the doll house. :)

I've known Alex indirectly for some time because I am friends with her family. I've wanted to work with her and was excited when we scheduled her senior session. Now admittedly, our session did not get off to a great start. It seemed like nothing was working out like it was supposed to...add to that Alex was sick! It turned out really cold that day and she had to think really warm thoughts to get through the session with what she had chosen to wear. One of the last places we ended up, we found a really cool old car...and a whole mess of stickers in our pants and shoes! Alex is such a beautiful girl, and she did a great job even with all of the hiccups we had along the way. Best wishes for a great senior year, Alex!

Whew! So all Christmas deadlines have been met...yay! I'm currently still working on meeting some senior deadlines but seeing daylight...yay! I finished shooting my last session this morning with Baby Z and will be off from shooting for several days...yay! I'm SO looking forward to spending some much needed time with my family during the holidays. I love my husband and boys more than anything and this time of year is always so hectic for our family. I will be completely closed (won't be answering the phone or emails or anything) on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. As my photographer friends (and their families!!) well know, this time of year is a challenge to get through! Around Christmas, we can all finally take a deep breath and exhale...and it's really nice! :) Thank you SO MUCH to all my clients that have made my business what it is. I appreciate each and every one of you!!

This was such a fun session! Between me and Chris' mom and sister, we drug that poor guy around all over the place! :) I know he hears this a lot but he really does resemble one of the vampire dudes. He's kind of a retro/vampire type, and has a very cool look. When I told his mom we were on a schedule to make it to all the desire locations before dark...she took that VERY seriously. We pretty much Dukes of Hazzard-ed her Tahoe over a bridge. All that was missing was one of us saying "Yeeeee Hawwwww!" She swore that bump didn't used to be there...hehe! Yes, Jenny is already a new momma! Between me being behind on editing and Miss Breken making her arrival early, Jenny has already experienced the joy of being a new mom for about a week now. :) Jenny is always a pleasure to work with and was absolutely adorable pregnant! You want to dislike her because she's one of those women that doesn't get a stretch mark, and can still wear most all of her clothes...but she's just too darned sweet to dislike! :) I'm a little sad that I can't post some of my favorites because she was a little less covered in those shots. Miss Kayden

Miss Kayden is such a pretty little thing, and we had been trying to coordinate for her session for quite sometime. She is quite the little character. She can go from happy and smiling, to crying and back to smiling in nothing flat. In the flower pot picture below, she appears to be VERY unhappy pretending to be a flower but the very next frame is the shot of her looking sweet as pie. :) She may have some acting in her future. LOL!

The Banks Family recently had a new addition to their family...Miss Brook! I had to laugh because she is a very cute mini version of her big brother, Brock. :) We decided to attempt an outdoor family session...on a day, of course, that turned cold. Miss Brook wasn't too happy with the situation and Brock is like most boys and would rather be doing anything other than having his picture taken! With that said, I think we managed to get some really cute shots of this family. And Miss Brook is an absolute doll...congratulations! :)

Happy Thanksgiving to all my family, friends and clients out there! I have so much to be thankful for this year. First and foremost...at this very moment, I'm thankful Cale can breathe and is feeling better! Thank the Lord for urgent care and medication!

I have so many other things to be thankful for and it's the perfect time to take a few minutes to remember a few of those things. I'm so very thankful for my husband and my marriage. Marriage certainly isn't always easy, but I'm so very lucky and blessed to be married to my best friend and couldn't imagine my life without him. I'm thankful for my two knot-headed boys. Thank you, Lord, that they are happy and healthy enough to drive me crazy on a daily basis. :) I'm thankful for still having my momma. She's always in my corner and is always there to support me...she's the best. I'm thankful for reaching a point in the last five years where I can remember my dad happily...and thankful for the wonderful memories I had with him. I'm thankful to have a mother-in-law that I love and get along with. She is such a giver of her time. I'm thankful for my friend, Denise. We typically take our daily walks through life together celebrating our ups and downs every step of the way. We swear we have to be sistas...somehow, someway. :)

I'm so very thankful for my clients who make my business what it is and allow me to do something that I love so dearly. This time of year is always absolute craziness...but I still wouldn't change it. I feel amazingly blessed to be able to create memories for families they can cherish for a lifetime. I'm able to feed my creative nature...and through that have forged true friendships with many of my clients. Thank you for continuing to come back to me...as I appreciate each and every session.

There is so much more I'm thankful for, but since I've been told I'm "wordy," I'm going to try to leave this with just hitting the high points. :)

I think it's safe to say that this session just about did in all who were involved! LOL! We had a baby who was teething and had kept his parents up all night. We had two other kids that I'm sure had ants in their pants. :) We even had cats that came out of no where that were running through almost every frame! It was craziness, I tell you! But through it all, we did manage to get this family some great shots! We were certainly determined!!

I was excited when I talked with Garrett's parents and they let me know they wanted me to take Garrett's pictures. He's such a handsome little guy, and I knew he would be fun to work with. We ended up at some really cool places around their house. We went way back in the woods to one spot. On the drive over we saw a deer and some wild turkeys...so it was pretty cool. I have to say that Garrett's true personality finally came out once we he broke out the cowboy hat...then it was on! :)

What a session I had with Mr. Colby! By the time we got done with him, we felt like we had traveled through three counties! He's a busy man with not much interest in being a model. :) He likes his dog, his horse, the tractor and riding round bales! He's such a cute little stink even if he is a mover and a shaker! His momma really wanted some shots with him and his dog, and well, we did the best we could...but the dog wasn't really interested in being a model either. I think we might have needed a video camera on Cheryl, because I'm not sure what she was doing, but it was the ONLY time he really laughed through the entire session. :)

The Conkling Family

I always enjoy hanging out with the Conkling family. They are not only a great looking family...but they are also our good friends. :) Most everyone knows that Chuck is Bristow Fire Department's Assistant Chief, so we took some shots down at the FD and also around town. We could only shoot at a fraction of the places I wanted to in town because the wasps were out in full force! I guess because it was a warmer day they decided to swarm...but the girls weren't having any part of it!! So we gave up on town shooting and headed to their house where we shot some pretty stuff in their pasture and around their pond. You might even catch their dog, Charlie, in the background hopping through the pasture. The pasture is tall and he's not much for walking THROUGH it...he's more for hopping OVER it. It's hilarious! One fun difference about this session? We cooked out and had dinner after it was over! :)

Sophie & Sadie

Every time I work with the Varner's, I always say this...it's an adventure! :) This time, however, it did not include cow poo at least! LOL! Lisa, Sophie and Sadie's mom, always puts great thought into what kind of look she wants for their sessions which is always a lot of fun. We had several looks to work with this time, but I loved the old vintage luggage...very cool!! Even though we had to battle the wind, we managed to get some really cute shots of the girls. It's definitely always a pleasure! Can't wait to see you girls again!

What started off as a pretty quiet/indifferent kind of session with Dekota...well, it ended up being rather funny (the "dump squat"). I knew the quiet person he brought to the first part of the session wasn't all there was to him, so his mom and I had to drag it out of him a bit. And I do mean entertaining. :) This year we made the trek to Pleasant Valley Farms to shoot their extended family session at the pumpkin patch. The folks at Pleasant Valley Farms are always kind an welcoming...even when we show up with our crazy bunch! :) Large family sessions with little kids are always a challenge, but Maggie Mae and little Holly did a great job. I work with these guys every year for their extended family session, and I'm figuring each year they are going to expand and add to the fun. We'll see if I'm right! :) It was great seeing everyone again! I'm already planning what excursion I'll take us on next year. :) Be ready! Or actually, maybe I'M the one that needs to be ready!! Haha!

Precious Miss Allison

They will give me hugs and talk to me and be very sweet, but as soon as I pull the camera out...they are outta there! I seriously think we only got ONE smile out of Hudson the entire time, and Savanna was trying REALLY hard. He had an agenda, and it was exploring...NOT being photographed! We did the best we could...and when you can't beat 'em, join 'em! The Sezate boys are definitely going to make me expand my bag of tricks for next time. :)

...I woke up at the crack of dawn for you to take me on my first fishing trip and I was asleep upside-down on a rock by the time the sun came up.

...you took me on an "errand" so my new playhouse could be delivered for my birthday and you were so excited you slipped and told me just as we pulled into the driveway.

...we used to beg you to take us to Keystone after every rain so we could go muddin' in our old Ford pick up, and we would laugh so hard our cheeks would hurt.

...you tried so hard to grow grass in the back yard and then bought Clint the go-kart and it ended up turning into a dirt track instead. But man, we had some good races! :)

...people would ask me when I was little where I got my big blue eyes, and without fail, my answer would always be "My daddy."

...I would sit on your lap and we would sing to all the old classics on your records and 8-track tapes.

...our favorite thing to do was wrestle around and then pile up on top of you on the couch to watch TV.

...we begged for all the "heen yaws." :)

...I ran right into your arms after I won my first 50 yard dash in the 3rd grade Little Olympics.

...we played all the games of HORSE in the back yard.

...you came to every basketball game possible to watch me play.

...you were probably more excited about Santa coming to our house than even we were, so we started having our Christmases a little after midnight!

...we would walk to the end of the dam and sit in the pasture and play with the dogs and just talk and appreciate a beautiful day together.

...you would fry a ton of fish for everyone but save the crappie for me and broil it because that's how you knew I liked it. :)

...you waited in your chair with the shot gun when you met Mike. Mike really remembers that one!

...in every picture of you walking me down the aisle you were biting your lip because you were trying so hard not to cry.

...Cale and Luke were born and as a result "Dadaw" was born, too.

Happy Birthday, Big Dad-a-rooski! I love you. I miss you. EVERY day.

The Woolery Family

I was super happy to finally shoot the Woolery's family session. We had been trying for a while but with everyone's schedules, that proved to be a task. I really love these guys for many reasons. Marla was one of my oldest son's 4th grade teachers last year (bless her heart! LOL!) and was wonderful with him. Marla and PD both teach after school music lessons and have music camps over the summer that both of my boys have attended. I also had the pleasure of shooting Paige's senior pictures last year. And then there's Jake! My boys LOVE Jake...and well, he's got about the prettiest blue eyes ever. :) They are such a good-looking family, it was really hard to pick a favorite family shot...but I'm kind of partial to the love seat shot with the pups. :)

Itzy Bitzy has some new accessories for little boys and girls! For girls there are some new adorable knit hats and head bands. Of course any of their flowers can be used with either of the new products. And they also have some very adorable new knit hats for little boys as well! I had the pleasure of working with Blake, a new client, in order to get a few shots of the new hats.
