The Tidwell Kids

It was so nice to see the Tidwell family again. They were in from Tennessee visiting family and decided to have some new portraits of the kids. Now the last time that I got to work with these little guys, Jess was still pregnant with Finley. But for this session, I got to work with all three of them PLUS shoot Finley's one-year session. And guess what? By the time they come and see me again...there will be a fourth little Tidwell added to the crew! Can't wait to see you guys again!

The Pinson Family

The Pinson family came to see me again for their family portrait this year. We shot the first part of their session on some family land, and then we retreated back to the studio for some shots in Brynlee's adorable Christmas dress. Miss Brynlee is one of my favorite kiddos to work with...and I'm sure you've seen her here frequently. :) For this session, Miss Brynlee definitely found her opinion...and her opinion was that she was over having her picture taken! LOL! Even with her new "diva" status...she will still always be one of my favorite kids to shoot!

Thank you!

Today is a day to, of course, stuff yourself with a great meal, but for me it's also time to reflect (for more reasons than one). During a time when jobs are scarce and times are hard for many, I want to send out a special thank you to all my loyal clients...old and new...who have enabled me to grow my business and pursue something that I love. YOU are what drives me! I feel very blessed and honored to be a part of watching your children grow, shooting your senior sessions, or capturing special family moments. I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with some of the nicest families. For so many that I've worked with on more than one occasion, client has really equated to friend.

I would also like to thank my family...my husband and boys...for being understanding of all the long hours this job takes so much of the time. I also want to say an extra special thank you to my mom. She has supported me without fail in every way...through all the ups and downs. I'm SO blessed to have such a wonderful family.

I also want to thank my friends (you know who you are). I have the BEST group of friends a girl/photographer :) could ask for! I wouldn't be where and who I am today without you guys.

And lastly, as I mentioned at the beginning of this post, we are in an economy where many people are struggling. Please remember those who are less fortunate. This time of year, especially, people really feel the pinch. Please remember to donate to your favorite charity...or at least donate your time. It could really make the difference in someone's life when they really need it.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Digging out!

Every week for the last few weeks I keep thinking that I've reached my peak of "behindness," (I think I just created a word!) but for some reason, I still don't think that it's peaked yet. Please know that I'm working as quickly as I can to get sessions edited, cards designed and orders placed. For this reason, I will be foregoing posting any images on Facebook for a while in order to focus on getting caught up from the busy shooting season. To view your sneak-peek images from your session, please refer to my blog. If you need to contact me, please feel free to email or call. If you had your heart set on using an image in your profile, please let me know, and I will be happy to email you one. Thank you for your patience...now back to work!!

The Leach, Fraser, Read, Stevens family session!

I love this bunch! I've known the Leach's for sometime, but got acquainted with the rest of the family last year during their first extended family session. I've grown to love these guys over the last year! It appears by next year's family session there will be a new little person in the mix since Jenny and Ross are expecting (yay!). Maggie Mae was in charge of the session this year! LOL! I would say she gave eight adults and one 10-year-old a run for our money! She was short on smiles this year...but full of personality as always! This is one of the few smiles we got...such a sweetie!

Austin | Bristow High School

I met with Austin and his mom a couple of weeks ago to shoot his senior session. Austin was like most of the senior guys I shoot and probably would have rather been anywhere else OTHER than getting his picture taken! I think he finally cracked a few smiles by about the middle of the session...and MAYBE even had a little bit of fun! LOL! Here are just a few from his session...

The Lawson Family

I'm always happy to see the Lawson family! For this session I met them at their new house in their new neighborhood. We walked all around trying to find some good spots to shoot. Missy managed to find a mud hole. I found the stickers. And Cale, he was mighty content with all the leaves! :) I think he is such a handsome little guy, and I've had the pleasure of seeing him grow and change over the last year. Here are just a few from the Lawson's session.

The Johnston Family

I must say I really enjoyed my session with the Johnston family. They are definitely the kind of family I love working with! I made a trip to their place for their family session...where there were many cows, dogs and even a snake! (Oh, and lots of poo again! LOL!) We finally had some nice weather for this session even though it was a big soggy. I definitely look forward to seeing these folks again!

Welcome to my new studio space!

I am now happily located at 221 East 7th in the upper level of the Corwin Building! I have actually been there since October, but with the craziness of the shooting season, I hadn't had time to take any pictures (imagine that!). I thought I would post a few images of the new diggs so that those of you who haven't been by yet can see part of what I have been up to! It's still a work in progress...but I'm definitely getting there!

Christmas Special!

When you come in for your Christmas mini-session, enter your child into a drawing to win $100 in print credit to apply towards your next session before March 31, 2010. Call soon for your appointment...only limited appointments available!

Baby Addison

I was so excited when Miss Addison's mom called me and told me she would like to schedule a newborn session for her baby GIRL! I love my boys...but out of all the newborns I've shot very, very few of them have been girls. Miss Addison is such a beautiful baby! To mom's dismay she wasn't sleeping too much at the time of her appointment (I hope for mom's sake she is now!!)...and didn't want to sleep too much during her session either! LOL! We managed to wear her down enough to get some really cute shots. :) Can't wait to see you again, Addison!

The Bell Family

WOW! That was probably the second windiest session I have EVER shot! We did our best to find areas that were out of the wind, but that was pretty tough. The Bell kids did really great considering the wind and cold. Our journey included some very steep four-wheeling in the truck! I could have seen going where we went on a four-wheeler...a truck, not so much. :) It's always fun working with the Bell Family!

Cooper turns one!

It was time for Cooper's one-year session, so his mom decided that she wanted to shoot it at the Pleasant Valley Farms pumpkin patch. I'm always all for a new location, so off I went to Sand Springs. One thing Ashley forgot to mention was that it was out in the middle of NOWHERE! LOL! I kept driving and driving and driving until I finally came upon their house...and what do you know, the pumpkin patch was right near there. Randy Owens is the very nice (& ornery) owner. He even helped us out with a few shots. It was a cool place to shoot, and I appreciated him letting us have the run of the place. Cooper was a breeze to shoot the first time I worked with him, but on this day I think he was feeling a bit under the weather. Even so, he managed to make his big blues eyes sparkle and give us a few smiles anyway. Happy Birthday, Cooper!
